Today I am in Tuscaloosa Alabama, at the University of Alabama. Everywhere you look, you see signs that read......ROLLTIDE.......this town is proud of their football team. The campus is very nice, tree lined streets and a beautiful football stadium. Today the weather is warm and sunny, so the outdoor cafes and restaurants are alive with college students.

2012 Life Coach Road Trip - Update

Have you have been following the 2011-2012 Life Coach Road Trip? I left Dahlonega Georgia on August 21st, 2011. I took the Life Coach Bus from North Georgia, to Chattanooga, Memphis, Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Little Rock, on to Albuquerque NM, into Flagstaff Az and arrived in Las Vegas on September 20th , 2011 for the yearly ICF ( International Coaching Federation) convention held at Mandalay Bay Resort on Las Vegas Blvd.

The 2011-2012 Life Coach Road Trip resumed in October, when I drove the Life Coach Bus from Las Vegas to San Diego. The trip continued to Los Angeles, where I attended the Talkers Magazine Southern California Talk Radio Summit on October 20th, 2011 in Hollywood California.

On January 3rd, 2012, the Life Coach Road Trip resumed. I picked up the Life Coach Bus in Culver City California and today I am in Dallas Texas, on my way back to Dahlonega Georgia. The 2011-2012 Life Coach Road Trip was designed to promote Jeff's Life Coach Radio Show.

Today, the Life Coach Road Trip has become a marketing and advertising vehicle for the Life Coach profession. People stop me and ask about Life Coaching whenever they see the Life Coach Bus.

I left Los Angeles on January 4rd, 2012 and headed to Las Vegas. Something about Las Vegas and the bright lights on the strip. I have been to Las Vegas many times, but one thing in recent years still amazes me, with all the big hotels, shows and casinos, the people still line up in front of the pawn shop on Las Vegas Blvd near the downtown, where the TV show Pawn Stars if filmed. I have never seen anything like this. People line up for hours to get a look inside the store. The crowds are so large, they have a hot dog stand outside to sell to the crowds. Cabs line up waiting to drop off and pick up tourist who came to see the store that made the TV show famous.

After a fun filled week in Las Vegas, I headed towards Kingdom Az. The trip is filled with beautiful mountain views. The new road around the Hoover Dam is an amazing view. Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam are one of the most beautiful views along the way. The trip continued on to Phoenix Az.

When I arrived in Phoenix, I stayed in the suburbs, in a beautiful town called Surpise Az. Surprise Arizona is home to the Texas Rangers & Kansas City Royals spring training. The stadium in Surprise Arizona is amazing.

After leaving Phoenix Arizona, I traveled to Tuscon. After visiting in Tuscon, I headed towards El Paso Texas. Along the way, I wanted to stop for lunch. I found the cutest little restaurant in Benson Az, the Apple Farm Restaurant. How times have changed, here is a very small, family run diner type of restaurant in a very small town and they have free WiFi.

On Friday January 13th, I arrived in El Paso. I never realized how large and how industrial El Paso has become. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. As a traveler, or as some call me, a road warrior, I am amazed at the difference in customer service, attitude and level of service I receive each night at a different Holiday Inn Express. One thing is for sure, regardless of the look of the hotel, the age of the hotel or the location of the hotel, the employee at the front desk who makes the first connection or has the first interaction with the guest, is the key. He or she makes the stay or leaves you feeling like the hotel staff does not care.

Traveling along I-10 towards Dallas- Ft. Worth, you come across a town called Sweetwater Texas, just before Odessa. The town is home to some of the largest wind farms in the county. As far as the eye can see, rows and rows of very large modern day windmills line the open fields. These very large windmills have created a second boom for west Texas. Oil has always been the industry of choice for west Texas, but the wind farms have created a vibrant economy in and around Odessa Texas.

I arrived in Ft Worth on Friday January 19th. The Stockyards in old Ft. Worth have been transformed into a terrific tourist area. The cobblestone streets, the afternoon cattle drives down Exchange street and the Cowboy Hall of Fame, help create the feel of a old world stockyard and cattle sale. It is a wonderful place to visit, lots of great restaurants, steak houses and gift shops.

Life Coach Radio Show # 26 - From El Paso Texas

The 2012 Life Coach Road Trip is in El Paso Texas. Yes, I am in El Paso with the Life Coach Bus. The Life Coach Road Trip has taken me on a journey across America. I have now traveled over 4,000 miles and have met hundreds of people from all walks of life.

This has been a one in a life time experience. I dreamed for a long time about the Life Coach Road Trip and it is here. Since January 3rd, I have traveled from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, down to Phoenix, Tuscon and into Texas. From here I am traveling to Dallas - Ft. Worth and east back to Dahlonega Georgia.

This has been an eye opening trip. It seems people want to talk about two things, unemployment and the republican primary. I am surprised that people seldom even mention President Obama or congress, they want to focus on the presidential hopefuls.

While in El Paso today, I recorded a show explaining the topics I cover when speaking to groups. I go over what I feel are the most important topics of personal growth and personal development. Most people I speak with are interested in learning to improve and understand their life and be happy.

Life Coach Radio Show # 25 - Miss America Fashion Show

Yes, the Miss American contestants are in Las Vegas, holding photo shoots and events around town. On Friday morning, they held a fundraiser sponsored by IHOP, where the contestants cooked and served pancakes.

On Saturday the Miss America organization held a fashion show and meet and greet at the Fashion Show Mall on Las Vegas Blvd. Jim, the marketing manager of the Fashion Show Mall did a great job putting this event together.

All 53 contestants did a great job modeling their outfits from Express. The girls were all very nice and just excited to be in Vegas.

I met Miss Georgia, since it was really nice to see our state represented.

I had lunch with Kristie at the Varsity in Dawsonville Georgia. If you have never been to the Varsity in Atlanta, you don't know what your missing. It is an Atlanta landmark. As you walk in the door, they start hollering out, "What - ya - have, What - ya - have" really fast.

Over the years, the Varsity opened several "Varsity Jr's". Recently they opened a Varsity Jr on Georgia 400 in Dawsonville.

Modern Day Problem Solver

Over the past four months, I have been traveling from coast to coast, speaking with hundreds, maybe thousands of people on topics from weight loss to finding a job, from relationships to health topics. My diverse background allows me to listen to people who have problems, issues and concerns.

A Life Coach takes a holistic approach, we look at all areas of your life, not just the the challenge that you are facing today. As I traveled and as I met with more and more people, the same nick name kept coming up, " hey, your a Modern Day Problem Solver."

So I have coined the phrase and plan to use it during my 2012 coast to coast tour. During January 2012, I will be returning from California in the bus. Life is made up a seasons, just like the weather. You create an idea, open a business or enter a relationship. First comes the planting or planning stages, then the growing stage and if everything goes as planned, the fall harvest allows you to be rewarded or enjoy the fruit of your labor.

This is always followed by the winter season, the end of a cycle. If you are like most farmers, you plant your seeds, you nourish your ideas and relationships. Although you expect your hard work to produce results, success and reward, sometimes things happen along the way. Take the farmer for example, if a storm comes along two weeks before harvest and destroys his crops, he does not quit farming, he has a lean year and plants again next spring, hoping for better weather.

Most farmers work hard all summer, then enjoy the fall harvest and use the winter months to plan, learn and prepare for the coming spring season. I think we can all learn a great deal from the farmer.

If you are in a relationship, which season are you in? If you opened a business and it is not where you want it to be, maybe you are still in the spring season. Like seeds in the garden, it takes warm weather, water and sunshine to grow the plants.

This Thanksgiving, I look back and think of all the things that I am thankful for. Not just the big things, but the small things too. I want to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving. I will be posting a special edition of Life Coach Radio this year for Thanksgiving. Please be sure and tune it to hear my Thanksgiving special.

2011 Life Coach Road Trip

Jeff Wasserman and the Life Coach Bus completed the first phase of the Life Coach Road Trip. Jeff visited the Southern California coast in October 2011. The highlight of the trip was the 2011 Los Angeles Talk Radio Forum. I enjoy spending time with talk show hosts like Stephaine Miller, Tom Leykis, Roger Hedgecock, Don Barrett, Doug McIntyre, Patt Morrison and Doug Stephan.

It was a great trip and one that I will never forget. The next phase of the Life Coach Road Trip will bring the Life Coach Bus back from Southern California to Georgia. In 2012, Jeff will be traveling up the east coast.

A walk back in time

Last night, I was driving near the Hillcrest neighborhood and found an old time dinner restaurant, Rudfords. I stopped in and found out the restaurant has some interesting history. It opened in 1949 and truthfully, it looks like nothing has changed.

They have pictures of JFK's presidential motorcade drove down the street with JFK standing up in the motorcade, waving to the people. You can see Rudford's in the background, it looks exactly the same.

I had such a good time, I had my picture taken at Rudford's. It's open 24/7and is famous for home-style cooking.

I arrived in San Diego on Wednesday. The motel I am staying at is very nice and is conveniently located off I-5. I drove to the Mexico border and observed the border crossing. As you stand at the border, you can see Mexico, it seems so close, yet so far away.

The Life Coach Road Trip in Las Vegas

I flew to Las Vegas and picked up the Life Coach Bus. I usually stay on the strip, but this time, I decided to stay off the strip, so I choose Eastside Cannery on Boulder Highway. I have never stayed there before and have never heard anyone talk about it. So I gave it a try.

When I pulled up in the Life Coach Bus, I had no idea what to expect. Considering my last trip to Vegas a few weeks ago, I stayed at Mandlay Bay, I know how it feels to be spoiled. I have stayed at the Wynn, Las Vegas Hilton and several other hotels on the strip.

The hotel is unique in architecture and the rooms are beautiful. The rates are reasonable and the staff in the restaurant and buffet are very nice. My only problem came from the security guard on his bicycle. I left the bus on the far edge of the parking lot, while I checked in. I asked where I am suppose to park and was told to park on the other end of the casino, in the far lot.

I asked Heather the front desk attendant to call security and let them know I would be moving the bus as soon as I took my luggage to my room. I came down to move the bus and found a parking violation on the windshield. It gets worse, as I returned to the bus, within 15 minutes, a security guard on a bicycle pulls up and really let me have it. Lucky the parking violation is from the security guard and is merely a warning.

I spoke to several security guards and the assistant security manager, only to be told that is there policy.

So if you plan to stay at this beautiful and friendly hotel casino, watch out for the security guards on bicycles. I spoke to the valet guys on the day I was leaving and they shared story after story about guests being upset with the security patrol.

After leaving Las Vegas, I headed towards Barstow California. I stayed at a new Holiday Inn in Barstow ( Lenwood).

I am now in San Diego California. I often comment about the staff and management about hotels and restaurants along the way. I plan to write a management training manual entitled, " Stories From The Road."

I understand, not all hotels and motels are the Wynn. Steve Wynn understands hospitality and customer service and he charges accordingly. One of the least expensive improvements a hotel or motel can make is improving customer service. Mandlay Bay management understands this concept, as well as several Holiday Inn's that I have stayed at. But here and there, I find hotels and motels that by changing the company customer service philosophy, they can change the entire stay for the guests.

Mandalay Bay Resort, Las Vegas Nevada

If you follow my travels, you know I travel a great deal. I stay in roadside motels, downtown hotels and resorts. Having been in the hospitality business for years, I can't help but observe how staff and management handle problems, request and challenges.

On my way from Little Rock Arkansas to Las Vegas, I had a poor experience at a Holiday Inn. The employee at the front desk was the first person I spoke with and she set the tone, simply, we don't care at this hotel.

When I spoke to the front desk manager the next day, she informed me that normally the owner of the hotel won't give more than a 10 or 20% discount on complaints. The front desk manager said that their hotel does not offer a guarantee like Hampton Inn.

I suggested that this hotel look into some coaching or training, since I stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels often and I have never experienced such poor attitude.

By comparison, I arrived at the Mandalay Bay Resort only to find the parking lot for oversized vehicles was blocked off for the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction. Even though I was told on numerous occasions that I could park the Life Coach Bus at the resort, the lot was not available.

A really nice security guard Terrance, apologized and you could tell he really felt bad. Then I spoke with a security guard, Gene, who escorted me to a parking space at the Excalibur, which is down the street. Again, Gene was truly sorry for my problem.

The next day I contacted management of the Mandalay Bay Resort and to my surprise, management handled the matter in a very professional and customer service manner. Management of Mandalay Bay Resort handled this problem to my satisfaction and Jeffrey and Marc at the valet stand went above and beyond to help me find the perfect spot to park the Life Coach Bus this week.

So much has changed in the 16 years since Thomas Leonard started the ICF. This year, attendance was between 900 and 1,000 coaches. I met coaches from so many countries, including four new friends from Japan.

Interesting idea on my trip to Chicago

I go around the country talking to folks of all ages and all walks of life. I hear people often say, but Jeff, you don't know how hard it is to make a living, let alone a fortune. I understand, but I like to remind those who take the time to listen, that people are not climbing under fences, traveling hundreds of miles, risking their life, to get into Mexico or Iran, they are risking their life to get to America, the home of opportunity.

We forget that we live in the greatest nation on the earth. Sometimes you have a run in with a police officer who forgets his job is to protect and serve or a building official who forgets his job is to help make buildings safer and more energy efficient, not try to make the obstacles in life more difficult.

On my trip to Chicago for the 2011 NAB Radio Show, I went out for a walk around the city and on the corner of Michigan Ave, there was the cutest puppet show built on the back of a bicycle.

No begging for money, just providing entertainment and ingenuity. When I walked past, there were people of all walks of life commenting and watching. It had nothing to do with the quality of the entertainment or the pieced together bicycle show, it was the idea that one person stopped complaining and got out and did something to earn a living.

Then I noticed the best part...... this person has a website, Puppetbike.com.

Again, it has nothing to do with street entertainers, it has everything to do with using your ingenuity, if you can dream it, you can build it. If you have a minute, check out this guys website, it is amazing for a street entertainer.

LIttle Rock Arkansas - Radio Show # 10

On Wednesday & Thursday, August 24th & 25th, I visited Little Rock Arkansas. I pulled into town and stopped at the Holiday Inn Presidential, in Downtown Little Rock. I pulled the bus up to the door and went inside. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

This is a case of rules are in place, but sometimes, just sometimes, it is better off to use common sense than follow the rules. I gave the man working the desk my Holiday Inn Priority number as well as my credit card with my name on it. Then he asked for a photo ID. I pointed to my picture on the side of the bus. There was a 8 foot tall picture ID, but he did not find that amusing and required my drivers license.

At Breakfast the next day, I asked to see the manager on duty. I advised the lady at the front desk to ask a manager to come into the dining room and talk with me. A few minutes later, a young man named Matt stopped at my table. He was helpful and very professional.

Matt shared a great story with me. When people ask me what I do, I usually tell them I am a Life Coach. Then I often go into a short explanation, it may be everything from " helping people get more out of life" or " helping people find happiness and live their authentic life" on in this case, " I said, a little like Zig Ziglar."

What he said next really surprised me. He said the owner of the hotel, Larry Carpenter has the original Zig Ziglar water pump in his office. If you are a Zig Ziglar fan like myself, you understand what he is talking about. Zig use to take a old fashion water pump on stage and pump and pump and pump, to demonstrate the work and perseverance required to get the job done, but if you give up, even for a second, you will lose the momentum you have and need to start over.

Matt checked with Larry and allowed me to broadcast my show from the presidential conference room, which made for a great recording studio. Matt also gave me a very good suggestion. He said that Larry asked if I had any cds I could leave so he would listen to some of my work. I am now going to work on a sample cd for the radio show and my Life Coaching services.

On Thursday, I went downtown Little Rock to visit the Riverwalk area. I had lunch in the market and visited a few shops, but my real reason for going downtown was to find Bookends, a used bookstore run by the Little Rock library. That was a real find, I ended up with two bags of books. The prices are very reasonable, the selection is extensive, they even have a small coffee shop in the bookstore, but the real joy came from meeting and talking to the staff. The ladies were friendly and very upbeat.

Day 3 - Life Coach Road Trip - Memphis Tn.

Today has been a very interesting day for me. My first stop was at Harlow's Donut shop, at exit 25 on the outskirts of Memphis. The donut shop is part of a gas station, so I stopped to fill up the bus and ran in for a quick cup of coffee and donut to go. For some reason, the shop had a unique look to it. When I travel, I go out of my way to try local restaurants and businesses. I also like to meet and help out local mom and pop businesses.

When I walked in, I did not see an employee, instead I met a customer, Jamie. He was waiting for his sandwich and donut. Ashley was in the back preparing his order. Jamie was very curious about the bus, about Life Coaching and asked if I am like Tony Robbins. I explained to Jamie what I do and how Life Coaching could change a life.

Jamie asked me to tell him how he can make a million dollars tomorrow. I asked him if he was really asking about standard of living or asking about quality of life. I coached Jamie for a few minutes until Ashley came out from the back with Jamie's order.

He shook my hand and said he would watch for me on TV.

I played role reversal with Ashley and I was the donut salesman for the next customer. I had a great time at Harlow's donut shop and all the customers had a great time as well.

Next stop was Memphis. I stopped in Downtown Memphis on Riverside Dr. I set up and broadcast Life Coach Radio Show # 9. A Memphis Police Officer pulled up and watched, he sat in his car the entire time I was broadcasting. The bus is a real attention grabber. People are not sure what to make of it.

Day 2 on the 2011-2012 Life Coach Road Trip

Day 2 started out in Manchester Tennessee, I needed to make a deposit at a local Suntrust. I stopped at Suntrust in Murphysboro Tennessee. I was thinking how times have changed. When I was young, banks were only local or regional. Today, I can make a deposit at a Suntrust branch in Orlando Florida or Murphysboro Tennessee and it is all online instantly. Young people today don't understand why I even go to the bank, the next generation will do most of their banking online and seldom visit a branch bank.

As I was walking into the branch, the lady in front of me turned around and said, "Is that you on the bus," I said "yes mam" and we walked in. I have received so many positive, complimentary comments. This has been a life changing experience for me.

Next stop, Brentwood Tennessee. I stopped in at Financial Peace Plaza, home to Dave Ramsey's media empire. Dave is a great human being and you may often hear me quote Dave or comment on his success.

Dave's success is his legacy with the people's lives he touches, including his staff, not in dollars and sense. Dave's media empire is faith based and built on his personal financial setback 20 years ago. Dave started over on his dining room table and has built a staff of over 300 great Americans. Dave built his business using many of Larry Burkett's teachings.

( a side note, Larry Burkett and I have some very unique similarities. We both went to High School in Central Florida, we both went to college at Rollins College, we both studied Marketing, he moved to Gainesville Ga, I move to the next town, Dahlonega Georgia. We both wanted to take our message to the people through mass media including radio. I had the pleasure of meeting some of his family members in Gainesville Georgia before he passed away in 2003.)

I am often asked if I am building a similar business to what Dave did. While our businesses may appear to have similarities including helping people, we have very different focuses. Life Coach Media is not faith based or affiliated with any organization or religion. While Dave focuses on financial freedom, Life Coaching focuses on all areas of your life, including your happiness, emotions, relationships and health.

Dave deserves a great deal of credit for hiring team members who share his visions, his philosophies and his positive energy. Matt, Dave's engineer is a young man with a knowledge of the radio business equal to most radio engineers twice his age.

A few years ago, Dave remodeled the lobby of Financial Peace Plaza and build in a small coffee shop, where he gives out free coffee and baked goodies. This is a very nice touch, but more important is his selection for a greeter, Martha. She shares her warmth, love for life and respect for Dave.

Day 1 of the Life Coach Trip

On Monday, August 22nd, the Life Coach 2011-2012 Road Trip began. I left Dahlonega Georgia and headed up I-75 towards Chattanooga. First stop in Tennessee was Hamilton Place Mall.

From Chattanooga, I headed west on I-24 towards Nashville. The views, the stares and the looks from travelers, was unbelievable. I have met Life Coaches, soccer moms, business professionals, fast food workers, students, unemployed people, corporate America workers locked in their cubical jail.

Everyone I have met has been intrigued by the concept of Life Coaching, the idea and vision for the bus and my determination to drive the bus coast to coast, promoting and marketing coaching to the American public.

For all the people I have met along the way that check out this blog, thank you for taking the time to speak with me and for being so kind and sharing your kind words of support. It has been a very emotional trip for me, since I am truly living my dream.

Life Coach Road Trip - October - November

Recently I announced the Life Coach Road Trip for August & September. I have had calls and emails from coaches, radio stations and newspapers along the way, wanting to meet me and learn more about the Life Coach Road Trip.

Many of the Coaches wanted to know where I was headed after the coaching convention in Las Vegas. In October 2011, the Life Coach Bus will be heading towards LA, yes California here I come. The Life Coach Bus will be in LA on Hollywood Blvd on October 20th, and the LA Convention Center on November 4th & 5th.

Starting in January 2012, the Life Coach Bus will be traveling throughout the state of California. In February, the Life Coach Bus will be headed back east, stopping along the way to meet members of the US Life Coach Association and host my radio show, Life Coach Radio.

2011 Life Coach Road Trip

In Life Coaching, we focus on the future, not the past, we look at your visions, your goals, your dreams. If you have ever met me or read any articles that I have written, you know that my dream is to bring Life Coaching to mainstream America.

I want to bring coaching to the people who need it the most. I want coaching to be a household word and for people to know how coaching can change your life for the better.

For many years, I have discussed and talk about buying a bus and traveling the country promoting Life Coaching. It is a big project, a big vision, but the time has come to bring my vision to life.

Starting later this month, the Life Coach Bus will be heading out from Dahlonega Georgia to Las Vegas Nevada. Over 2,000 miles of open highway and not stop lights. If only life was that easy. We all have challenges, hurdles, obstacles and setbacks.

I plan to take highway 40 across this great land. My goal is to end up in Las Vegas by September 21st, 2011. There will be many Life Coaches visiting Las Vegas during the week of September 24th - 16th for the annual ICF coaching convention.

The Life Coach Bus will then be headed to Los Angeles for a radio convention on October 20th.

2011 New Media Seminar - New York City

As in most professions and industries, the major trade organizations host a years conference or trade show. In the radio and TV business, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) host a large scale conference each year in Las Vegas. In 2011, over 85,000 people attended. These large trade shows are great for displaying new equipment and computer software.

For talk radio hosts and radio station management, the real trade show, the place to be is the New Media Seminar, presented by Talkers Magazine. Michael Harrison, the founder and publisher of Talkers Magazine started hosting the New Media Seminar 14 years ago, after a similar trade show disbanded.

Michael has been in the radio business for over 40 years and knows the trade better than anyone. Michael is my inspiration for Life Coach Radio/Life Coach Media. Hosting your own multimedia entertainment station from your own website, or as Michael calls it, the "media station."

One thing Michael Harrison offers new media pioneers like myself is chance to be recognized for our attempt to change the way media is delivered today. Michael produces a list each year called the "Frontier Fifty", outstanding talk media webcasters. Talkers Magazine has even changed their slogan to be "the bible of talk radio and the new talk media."

This year, on June 10th & 11th, the 14th annual New Media Seminar took place in New York City. As I try to do each year, I attended this years event and as expected, it was outstanding. Sometimes educational, sometimes controversial and at one point, even shocking, with the keynote address by Alex Jones. The keynote address was advertised as "Beyond The Box" and let me tell you, it was way beyond the box, it was a 30 minute rant from the stage.

I had the pleasure of networking with several of talk radio's superstars.

Neal Boortz, is an Atlanta home town favorite. Neal is a gentleman and a scholar. Neal carries the nickname, the talkmaster, and he sure can talk. He tells it like it is. Sean Hannity is a true superstar. Hosting his own radio and TV show on Fox. Sean is a household name, especially if you are interested in the tea party. If you have ever heard me speak, you know that I often comment that Sean has not forgotten what it feels like to be on the other side. He will always stop and shake hands, visit and say hello. Rusty Humphries is a unique individual. While he recently made the new when he was held in the middle east, he impresses me the most with his unique marketing tools. From Big Valley to Dynasty, Linda Evans

Last week I was in New York for two conventions, Blogworld and the Book Expo. For the first time, both conventions were held at the same time at the Javits Convention Center. It was an interesting convention, Book Expo is the once a year meeting of everyone in the book publishing world, from publishers, editors, established authors, new authors and those wishing to publish their first book. It was quite a mix of people, the convention was very busy, but the most interesting dynamic to me was the interest in my company name and badge.

Normally, I register for media trade shows with my other company name, JSW Media Inc. I was at the Blogworld and new media convention for the Life Coach business. As I was walking down the isles, so many authors and publishers stopped to ask what Life Coach Marketing is all about. Most had heard of Life Coaching, but never saw a company dedicated to the profession.

One of the authors that I met brought back so many memories, it was like walking down memory lane. Linda Evans has written a new book that will be out in print in October 2011. It is called, Recipes For Life. You may remember Linda from Big Valley or Dynasty, but Linda's love is the kitchen, she loves to cook.

The "Life Coach" on my shirt caught her attention, but the name of her new book caught mine. "Recipes For Life" is a metaphor I use in coaching. People often ask me what makes a great relationship, or what makes a great career or the most often asked question, how do you build a business. All of these require a recipe, just like in cooking. They also require time, patience and love.

Look for Linda's new book in October is you enjoy unique cook books sprinkled with stories about Richard Burton and Lee Marvin.

Jeff's Visit To Blogworld

Social Media has become the talk of the trade. The media business has gone from traditional media, to new media, then the buzz word was social media and today the talk is Social Business.

Monetization is the key to all internet traffic. At first, the internet was mostly websites with links and banner ads. Then Google introduced Keywords, which became the trend. The internet was designed for easy uploading, so journaling quickly took off and evolved into blogging. The biggest blog convention today is Blogworld, which up until this year has been held each year in Las Vegas in the fall.

This year, Blogworld has changed it's format and split into two shows, an east coast and a west coast show. This years east coast show was held in New York at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on May 24th, 25th & 26th, 2011. It was held in connection with Book Expo.

The theme at Blogworld is blogging and new media, but the emphasis seems to be on the business of blogging. Whether you run a news site for a traditional print media or a web site for a popular radio station, having a tremendous amount of hits to your site is great, but unless you can figure out a business model to generate revenue at some point, the site becomes a burden to the business.

Social Media is great, but unless you can generate direct sales or income, social media is a hobby. Recently Google admitted they dropped the ball by not putting up a bigger social media competition against Facebook a few years ago. Today, Facebook and Twitter are the talk of Social Media and now Social Business.

Now that Facebook is selling ads, based on the success and usage of Facebook, it is inevitable that Facebook ads will take the wind out of Google AdWord sales.

The buzz at this years Blogworld was marketing successfully using social media sites such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

Is Your Life Overloaded?

Have you ever been in the bathroom drying your hair or in the kitchen running the microwave and all of a sudden the power goes out? If the outlet you have the appliance plugged into has a GFI, you may have tripped the outlet, causing it to lose power. Naturally, you try unplugging one of the appliances and then reach in and click the reset button and the power goes back on.

This is often due to the outlet being overloaded. While GFI outlets serve many purposes, I decided to use the GFI outlet to demonstrate or help you visualize our lives. We are internally wired to handle a great deal of multitasking, assignments and stress, but when we undertake too many projects, too many commitments, we often find our lives overloaded. Just like the outlet, if you overload your life, most of the time you will end up sick. This is our body telling us we are overloaded, just like the outlet.

I am sure you are thinking to yourself, "I have no choice, family, career, life." This may be true and the changes in technology that have taken place in the past couple of years has made our lives even faster. Today we have added responsibilities with social media, computers, smart phones and tablets. This is the future, so we need to take time to remember the fundamentals of life, like take time to stop and smell the roses or revisiting our priorities.

If you find yourself with high blood pressure, headaches and sick too often, maybe it is time to disconnect some of your internal appliances. Just like the GFI outlet, if you don't unplug or turn something off, you are going to overload your life again.

Earlier this year, I lost my father to heart disease at the age of 83. He and I spent a great deal of time discussing life and aging. In all of our father-son talks, he never once said he wishes he had worked more. In my Life Coaching experiences, I never had an elderly client say they wish they had spent more time in the office. I always heard things like, "I wish I had taken more time with my children" or "I wish I had taken more trips" or "I wish I had lived life more fully."

As I embark on the 2011-2012 Life Coach Road Trip, I want to remind the people I meet to take time in life to enjoy the journey, don't focus on the destination. It is like a vacation, getting there is half the fun.

Get to Know Jeff Wasserman - Part 2

While this blog is new and not many people have read it, as time goes on, people who want to know more about me, my life and my vision for the Life Coach Road Trip will go back and read these early posts. So I wanted to share more about my life, my reason for the bus tour and what I hope to accomplish over the next 18 months.

As I mentioned in the last blog post, I was raised to keep out of the spotlight. While this is good advice on some subjects and causes, it did not work for me when it came to the Life Coach profession. I found Life Coaching early on, a time when few had heard of Life Coaching. I was familiar with motivational speakers, self-help authors and advice columnist.

From the time I was 15, I loved reading self-help books, listening to motivational audio tapes and attending any type of personal development workshops, even if they came with a sales pitch to buy a product or service. I just loved the energy in the room and the excitement the presenters were able to pull together in the room.

After college, I owned a business, then another business and yet another business. People use to say I was living the American dream, I was a serial entrepreneur or a true businessman. In fact, I was just really searching for a feeling of accomplishment. That is something that most business professionals are in search of. Sometimes it is an illusion, like water on a desert, it is always just over the horizon.

During those 15 years of living in Orlando and building a business or two, I loved to work, I was a workaholic. I created my personal energy from working, from seeing a plan come together. I went from working to live, to living to work. Again, I was in search of accomplishment, reaching a level or point in life that really, is not a stationary point at all.

During that time in my life, no matter how hard I worked, no matter what changed in my life, several things were consistent. First, I listened to talk radio, especially Bruce Williams, a personal and business advice, nationally syndicated talk radio host. Secondly, I enjoyed eating at restaurants like IHOP, Denny's and Waffle House. It's not really the food, it's the environment.

Waffle House is as main street as you can get. The waitresses are as down home as they come, the food is prepared in front of your eyes and most of the time, you can talk to the cook as he or she prepares your food. It is very much like growing up as a kid, watching your mom at the stove, cooking your meal. I guess it brings back good thoughts of a time in life, when things were simple and you felt protected.

When I went to Atlanta and picked up the bus at Adnormous, the first stop was Waffle House. As you can see in the background of this bus picture, the familiar Waffle House is waiting with my hot cup of coffee and hashbrowns covers, smothered and chopped. ( I usually order a waffle, but hashbrowns are what they are famous for).

Get to know me, Jeff Wasserman, Professional Life Coach

I am hoping to use this blog to introduce myself to you. I don't want to overload you with my life history or my visions all at once, so each day, as we build up to the start of the radio show, I want to share with you a little about myself.

I have had this goal or dream to host a talk radio show since I was 16. I love radio, it is still one of the greatest inventions.

When I was young, I was brought up to "blend in the crowd," to "stay under the radar screen." My father taught his kids to " go with the flow and just fit in." It was good advice at the time, but as the years went by, it caused me internal conflicts. I could not "self-promote" and feel good about myself, it felt too much like "bragging." So for many years of my life, I started, owned, operated and eventually sold businesses, while staying out of the spotlight. My name was never used, all my business had corporate names, that were not directly tied to me. I was never the spokesperson for my businesses.

When I started coaching professionally 12 years ago, I struggled to brand myself. I still felt a need to stay under the radar screen. Even though I found clients quickly from past business relationships and referrals, I knew that it was time to take my own advice and break the pattern of living under the radar screen.

A couple of years ago, I decided to pursue my dream of spreading the coaching message, just like the story of Johnny Appleseed. I wanted to go city to city, town to town and meet the people, face to face, and share with them my Life Coach concepts and services. I wanted to introduce coaching to the general public, not just the celebrities and corporate executives.

I decided that the best way to achieve this goal is to buy a bus, wrap it and start the show as a on-location, live event. I plan to distribute the show at the start via the internet, but eventually, host the show on the radio, possibly in a syndicated format.

So when you meet me at one of my live events or if you call into my show, please know that just like you, I had childhood thought patterns that I too had to change. It was not easy, but I am doing it. With your help, I can overcome my " belief pattern" that was no longer serving me well.

So there you go, I just shared with you a little about myself and I hope this may help you or someone you know, who is trying to change a "learned behavior" from childhood that is no longer working.

NAB Show - Las Vegas April 2011

I recently attended the National Association of Broadcasting convention in Las Vegas. NAB hosts the spring show every year for all media, including TV and Radio. In the fall of each year, the NAB hosts a Radio only event. The fall Radio show is usually held on the east coast. This years spring NAB show in Las Vegas had attendance of over 85,000 people from all over the world.

You might be wondering why I go to these shows, first and foremost, I love Radio. I would like to get back on the radio, hosting a syndicated, nightly talk show. Secondly, as Founder and CEO of JSW Media Inc, it is important to stay ahead of the curve, to stay in touch with people in the industry and learn about the advancement in technology.

I can't get over how each year, so much has changed and all the new products that are introduced to the industry. I remember attending a show in 2003 where everyone was talking about having a blog. It was a must to stay connected with your customers. Some listened and some did not.

I remember attending the NAB in 2008 and everyone was buzzing about Facebook, Link In and Twitter. Today, these are essential business tools for any size business.

In 2010, the talk was the downfall of newspapers and print magazines. The talk for the media business was all about mobile / smart phones and apps. Delivering content will change from traditional media like print newspapers, terrestrial radio ( antenna and FCC license) and over the air TV stations like NBC, ABC and CBS.

This year, the talk was on expanding and monetizing social media. I am sure in two years, running a business will include Facebook, just like having a telephone number or email address.

So much has changed in the past 10 years. So you might be asking, how does this relate to Life Coaching and hosting a radio show? The answer is simple, even with technology, even with smart phones and apps, we all still face challenges, tough economic times, relationship problems, career choices, family matters, etc. That is where I can be of assistance, I can assist callers who are struggling to understand life, who need some guidance or advice, who need a direction or path to follow. This is what Life Coaching is all about.

The idea for Life Coach Media started many years ago. I have always wanted to be in the helping profession and I always wanted to be on the radio. Since I was 16, my dream has always been hosting a talk radio show. In 2008, I was attending the National Association of Broadcasting convention in Austin Texas and heard Michael Harrison, owner of Talkers Magazine, speak about the future of talk radio and the future of the Media Station.

Michael believes that the future delivery format for talk will be on the web, having a radio station and antenna will be a bonus for those in the media delivery business. Like most industry professionals, Michael believes it all about the content or talent, not about how many watts you have. He is right, if you are a good storyteller, you can make it on the web.

I asked Michael at that convention, how do you get a syndicated radio show, his answer was simple, build a media station, attract a large following and the syndicators will find you. He also went on to add that if you are successful on the web, you may not need or want to be on terrestrial radio or a traditional radio station. Michael was so right, he may have been a few years ahead of his time, but he was on the path.

I have been involved in the coaching profession from the start, learning from the late, Thomas Leonard. In 2004 I hosted a radio show on WGUN in Atlanta. Since that time, I have wanted to get back into radio. In 2011, I decided to make this happen, I put together a plan to produce a radio show, mostly on location from businesses, fairs, events, festivals and restaurants.

In order to let people know what I am all about and introduce them to my show, I bought a large RV Bus on April 15th and had it wrapped to promote my radio show.
